The best thing about Christmas is the day you put up the decorations. Let me set the scene...
It's the first weekend in December and the Christmas stuff is in the shops. Christmas songs are playing int eh background :) All the decorations are coming down from the loft with all sorts of memories held within each one. A snowglobe I got for my first birthday, a photo of me with 'Santa', a bauble that has been in the family for generations.
It brings the Christmas spirit out and you cannot help but smile :) Then you start buying family presents and try to hide them... but you know they are going to look for them! My way around this is to wrap the presents straight away so that even if they do find them, I will know if they looked at them!
However, Christmas is being seen as just an opportunity for businesses to make people 'pay up'. Make us think we need things that we don't actually need! It is becoming too much of an advertising campaign and we are losing the true spirit of Christmas.
